Every house where love abides and friendship is a guest is surely home and home sweet home, for there the heart can rest. - Henry Van Dyke
On Friday, what you see in the picture above will be my driveway. I can't freaking wait! I also can't believe I have less than a week. Yesterday, I got a new refrigerator and my grandfather and my parents and I moved that in along with the large chair and bookcase that I posted pictures of yesterday. After that, I took the Gabs over there for the first time and let her sniff around while I moved in some smaller loads of junk I've had piling up in my car.
My boss often quotes the line "Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end" from the song "Closing Time."That line seems to make a lot of sense right now.
I have to admit, this weekend, as I was driving around my old neighborhood, checking out the sales, I sort of missed it. I miss being downtown and living 1/5 of a mile from the Police and Fire Departments and all the other hustle and bustle the city brings. I miss the scenery, the dogwoods and other flowering trees lining the streets, the old houses, people out walking their dogs, and as anti-social as I was with my neighbors, I sort of miss them, too. And as much as I hate to admit, this is around the time, last year, that everything began to pick up with "the job" and what the heck, I miss that, too.
It just seems like there is so much change associated with this move and it's mostly good change. There is so much to look forward to. For the first time in my life, I will have an actual house to myself. I can play my music and let Gabby bark as loud as she wants. I'll be close enough to my family that I can swim every day and since I'll be working from home and need the exercise, I'll be taking full advantage of that. I'll have so much more time to get things accomplished and plenty of space to do that in. The list could go on! One thing I'm looking forward to is getting back into my habit of being glued to the news and having something important to blog about. I know I've rambled about moving enough over the last month, and I think those of you I know outside of the blog world know why, and I appreciate all of you putting up with it! Once I'm settled in, I promise more updates. I also promise to be better with email. I have email from March that I still haven't had time to answer. I appreciate you guys being so patient.
But in the meantime, this week may be pretty slack as far as blogging goes. Not only do I have to finish painting the bedroom and living room, cleaning the carpets, get the utilities hooked up, and moving all of my stuff, I am in the last week or two of school for this semester and I have tests and papers due like crazy. I have to get caught up on work I've been slacking off of or I'll end up being kicked right back up the opposite end of that driveway. I've got pack up the few things I've been using here for the last nine months and clean up the bedroom so my mom can have her "work room" back. I've gotta clean out my car and get my oil changed because I have to drive to Macon and pick up something. I have to go shopping and buy dog food and the bare necessities so Gabby and I can eat this weekend and next week. Not to mention, my family is planning a birthday party for me on Sunday afternoon. Saturday, my new washer/dryer will be delivered and have to be hooked up. Also, I have to manage to do it all without running over myself or injuring myself in another way which as you know, is quite the feat. I know there's more on this week's "to do" list but I'm drawing a blank!
I need to get back to that list but I hope everyone has a great week! By Monday of next week, which is ironically my birthday, I will hopefully be fully engaged in a "new beginning."

It looks like a beautiful place ... very quiet and peaceful.
The fact that it's all yours, that you can do what you want when you want, makes it even better.
I look forward to seeing more pictures.
Thanks - I am definitely looking forward to it!
Awesome! Looks like a great, peaceful southern place to call your own. Hope the move goes well.
